Mindful Strength X Love Yoga

It’s been a while since we have hosted a teacher training program in Cornwall, and we are excited to be leading this ground breaking course beginning in March 2020. This program is for you if you have a keen interest in yoga, movement, the science behind exercise and learning to facilitate classes that are safe and accessible.

Paula McDermid and Kathryn Bruni-Young are joining forces to offer a unique and accessible program in downtown Cornwall. The teacher training program will be hosted mainly at Love Yoga, and taught by Kathryn Bruni-Young and a selection of wonderful guest instructors.

This program will prepare you to teach classes that are…

  • Accessible
  • Based on the latest exercise science, biomechanics, and pain science research
  • Strength, mobility and functional movement focussed
  • Adaptable movement with the feeling of yoga and mindfulness
  • Strong and restorative

Main Teachers

Kathryn Bruni-Young
Kathryn Bruni-Young is an international teacher, the host of the Mindful Strength Podcast and a creative thinker in the progressive yoga movement. Her work bridges the gap between yoga practice and strength training, and challenges dogmatic views on alignment, safety and how we practice. She has been teaching for over a decade and has specific interests in pain science, biomechanics, strength training and encouraging students to develop critical thinking as well as curiosity. Kathryn will be leading the majority of the workshops on yoga poses, strength + mobility, teaching strategies and biomechanics.

Paula McDermid
Pauls’s classes focus on sensing the energy of the room, and cultivating a deep connection between body, mind, and breath in order to deepen practices and mindfulness. She is equal parts crazy-artist-energy-healer and down-to-earth, heart on her sleeve, mom of three. She encourages everyone to find the practice that is right for them in order to realize their own path to self-discovery and personal transformation. Her mission is to make the practice and benefits of yoga easy, affordable, and accessible to anyone who wishes to practice. Having been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and lupus many years ago she believes that yoga offers a wealth of benefits that everyone should have a chance to explore and to be the best they can be even through their physical limitations. Paula will be teaching workshops on the rope wall, yin and restorative yoga practice, teaching strategies as well as how to get started as a yoga/movement teacher.
