Carrie Owerko has been teaching yoga and exploring the relationship between body, breath, and mind for several years. She holds a Senior Intermediate Iyengar teaching credential, is a certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) and Functional Range Conditioning Mobility Specialist (FRCms), and continues her studies with the Iyengar family by traveling to India on a regular basis, as well as with continuous and in-depth studies with her yoga teacher, Patricia Walden. Curiosity, openness, and affection are of the utmost importance in her approach to Iyengar Yoga, as is the integration of science, yoga philosophy, and the poetic imagination in the yoga practice. Carrie teaches international workshops and has a new online course available, Stability Mobility Playground.

In this conversation Carrie and Kathryn talk about everything from how they got started with yoga to why they have made certain changes to their respective approaches. They talk about the changing landscape, and how much things have evolved over the last ten years. Carrie talks about her experiences in India working with Iyengar teachers and why she has decided to show up in the community in a very intentional way. She talks about her playful approach to yoga and how she continues to learn from different modalities. This conversation ran a bit longer than usual and we want to thank Carrie for coming on the podcast and her continued support.
